  • When we talk about the books and stories that inspire us, it’s more often than not real life stories about people with whom we can relate to that resonate the most. A new book by Phil and Manuela Cheney, “Camino Stories – Half a Million Steps”, is packed full with such stories, but with a very interesting twist.

Authors Phil and Manuela Cheney set out on a pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain in 2015. Their “Camino Stories” is a collection of real-life tales about people from over 15 countries that they encountered during the course of their pilgrimage. The result is an awe-inspiring look into the human spirit, told from real people with mysterious spiritual synchronicity.

Readers will love the light yet deeply engaging writing in “Camino Stories” that makes it easy to pick up and read each story individually, but impossible to put down. Every bit of “Camino Stories” is entertaining and insightful, written with an honest sincerity that fans have come to expect from Phil Cheney.

Packed full of colorful character and captivating photography, Phil Cheney’s “Camino Stories” is a great read for anyone interested in travel, spirituality, or anyone who enjoys inspirational, real life stories from other cultures.
You can find “Camino Stories – Half a Million Steps: True Inspirational Stories from a Pilgrimage in Spain” on Kindle here.

I’m trying not to moralise, I know I’ve done things wrong, I let them go, I try to pray Thinking things over, I realise I’ve made mistakes start anew each each day so long I have made some way In loving and being loved. I am no superstar I am broken You can see my scars when you turn away I bleed real tears… So please don’t turn too far When all is said and done - meaning only comes In the calm arms of love. bridge: You can question, you can criticise, You can argue or even sympathise… Just let me know that you once found that there are rainbows shared That can touch your soul… So I will no longer moralise, I’m over, yes I'm over blame. Each word I say And every choice each day, Plant a new seed, Grows more in me help me to make some headway... bring me to the arms of love loving and being loving and being loving and being loved.

I'm gonna quit : I'm so over bad news , media's full of disaster promotion givin us a negative vibration let's empower our concentration on what's goin' right! Let's look for the optimistic find all our hope and print it If I can be opti-mistic the east you can do is a Lip sync To hope is just realis-tic; we can do bet-ter than survive, (we can thrive) Let's walk together towards what we don't know -don't be afraid to go with the flow. smile at the forecast, but do what we can, live in the moment, don't forget to plan live together in harmony, and peace! yes we can be opti--mistic find all our hope and print it If I can be opti-mistic the east you can do is Lip sync To hope is just realis-tic; we can do better than survive, (we can thrive) repeat

Destiny took her chances, put her life on the line She wanted to trust she could fly on her own; not be stuck in the mud all the time! had everyone sold out, their dreams of authenticity? She heard a voice that spoke hope for her heart to be free; she heard; Look at your innocence, in pools on the floor Let go of instructions that you don't believe, choose for yourself, you can have more! when you have doubts, /and you will, I am sure... Listen inside for the strength to be true to what's inside your core. For when you have soul doubt, (it's what hope's about), self-confidence comes with accepting your value at birth, Hold on to soul doubt, (it's what growth's about), don't be sold out; have faith in your worth! Destiny took her chances, lived life in truth, She found that the more she believed in herself, that others did too! now she is a woman who stands up and fights against conformity, she tells of a wisdom that helped her believe that she could be free; For when you have soul doubt, (it's what trust's about), a plant that is blooming gets all that it needs from the earth, Hold on to soul doubt, (it's what hope's about), don't be sold out; have faith in your worth! so Hold on to soul doubt, (it's a sign of growth,) self-confidence comes with accepting your value at birth, Hold on to soul doubt, (it's what growth's about), don't be sold out; have faith in your worth! don't be sold out; have faith in your worth!

Just started therapy, trying to clear up my history I thought I was messed up, but it seems we all are... Learnt during therapy, my guilt ain't no mystery I'm just suffering from the judgemental blues. started in the family, darker in high school everyone knew better, thought I was just a fool learnt during therapy, they had no mastery I was just holding onto their judgemental blues Lord, let me be see, how to be free from all the blame that's stalking me Instrumental by Sam don't allow opinion, to change into dominion of your dreams to be the best you can be just keep right on growing, questioning more than knowing and don't let judgement take away your liberty take away the put-downs, burn the images of bad run away from everything that stops you being proud, like the judgemental blues Still doin' therapy, trying to clear up my history I thought I was messed up, but it seems we all are Learnt during therapy, my guilt ain't no mystery It's just a reaction to judgemental blues

I once asked for a kiss, and you granted my wish with a thousand all over my body I put on your hand, a zirconium band and your smile lit the whole of the lobby I remember the time, coming home; too much wine, when we laughed and got wet in the rain; over the years we faced fears with joint tears, but our hearts were entwined all the time I was yours, you were mine, though it was a tough climb we still shared joy, we still shared joy, we still shared joy oh so sublime. (Instrumental memory refrain) You know I love you. you have so much to give,I prayed that you'd live, and I thought that we'd beat this one too now I guess I can say, though I miss your sweet ways, that I know that you haunt all I do I asked for a kiss, and you still grant my wish with the breeze on my face and the sun on my skin I ask for your hand, and then ]in mine I find your zirconium band... and I dance with a smile once again. I once asked for a kiss, and you granted my wish with a thousand all over my body I put on my hand, a zirconium band and your love dances with me again (Instrumental memory refrain) and your love dances with me, forever

My heart is beating, I got a choice My eyes can see, I breathe without thinking 'bout it I hear your voice, I can feel your pulse About my health, I got the attitude of gratitude. Food on the table, water on tap. My blood is warmed by doing what I love to do I am a dance, and I take the chance to appreciate - the attitude of gratitude! I've got lots of stuff, I can do without I've got enough money and a bank that's lookin' after it I have my home, a love that's true, I see love as the mirror of my attitude of gratitude Instrumental Best of all, I got friends who care We've got love we share, (you have a sexy aptitude) I've got self respect, and I love me too, that's the base of an attitude of gratitude. My life is good, I've got a choice your perfume, I breathe without thinking bout it I hear your voice, I can feel your pulse for all I see, I have the attitude of gratitude.

The chains of the past are broken They were all inside my head, now The chains of the past are broken They were all inside my head, now Delusions gonna live with compassion I’m gonna live Gonna live my life shining light ; cause nothin’ is stopping me nothin’ is stopping me nothin’ is stopping me anymore I was brainwashed by the system To believe in punishment, now Brainwashed To believe in God’s punishment Like God wanted to hurt me now.... (Chorus) My life was obligation I wanted so much to be me, now My life was obligation And I just wanted to be free, To make my own mistakes I was told I was a sinner, I was labelled no good, I was washed up and hopeless, then I received love, I believe I have value shining self-confidence, now I believe I have value self-confidence is the difference, oh yeah mmmm gonna live with compassion I’m gonna live Gonna live my life shining light from GodIsLove cause nothin’ is stopping me nothin’ is stopping me nothin’ is stopping me anymore

Before I met my woman I spent nights alone in bed My life was like a traffic light always stuck on red. But now I get the green instead, cause she opens up her.. (don't presume!) she opens up her heart with her magic will, she's got that magic skill but what really gives me the biggest thrill is that if she can, If she can, she will! Stopped. now I go, Unsure. Now I know That until red becomes green, If she can she will, If she can,she will Blue, red, orange, green Prettiest woman I've ever seen I love who she is, and my biggest thrill is that if she can, - she will Before I met my woman I spent nights alone in bed My life was like a traffic light always stuck on red. Now I love that she lights up the green instead well, if she can, she will if she can, she will

Ride the warm waves of my mystery Oooh, I, Oooh, We... Oooh, I, Oooh, We... Read the pages of the ink that I paint on your thigh, paint on your thigh ... Ride the warm waves of my mystery Oooh, I, Oooh, We... Oooh, I, Oooh, We... Read the pages of the ink that I paint on your thigh, paint on your thigh ...
