Flower In My Eyes

from After Half A Century by Philosofree & Optimysts

/

about

Written for my children, this song reflects the 70s.
It is a folky ballad style with subtle guitar, acoustic bass and flute.

lyrics

Flower in my eyes
Blow away the sky beneath my feet
Gentle sweet surprise
Tugging at the shirt I wear
with a hand so tiny

Walk with me a while
The days have passed so fast I feel quite tired
Catch a mirrored smile
And tread the mossy ground so cool
it leaves me hazy

Let my lips touch yours
Though the river flows much deeper now
Hear the loud applause
Ringing out the song I learnt
when I first met you

Flower in my eyes
Blow away the sky beneath my feet
You sure changed my life
Laugh and sleep till your love comes
To make your garden bloom
